Yoga, meditation and Pranayama all serve important roles in helping to calm the mind.  I lead both Christian based and non-religious based sessions in yoga, meditation/prayer and pranayama.

B.K. S. Iyengar said, "Yoga allows you to find an inner peace that is not ruffled and riled by the endless stresses and struggles of life."

It's that quiet mind that we are seeking when engaging in these activities.  That time for our minds to relax and for our cortisol to drop, for our bodies to relax.

Yoga is a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and science of healthy living. The word 'Yoga' is derived from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj', meaning 'to join' or 'to yoke' or 'to unite'.
